SKY Yoga

Simplified Kundalini Yoga (SKY)

Billions of creatures have evolved over millions of years and thousands of generations, starting from tiny unicellular organisms to plants, worms, insects, reptiles, quadrupeds, and birds. From the four-legged beasts emerged the two-legged ones, culminating in humans, who now stand at the pinnacle of the evolutionary scale.

Humans have inhabited every part of the planet since their appearance, adapting to various climates and circumstances that have brought numerous changes and challenges. These have resulted in a myriad of physical and mental ailments, as well as a shortened lifespan, leading many to live under miserable conditions.

This spurred wise and erudite individuals worldwide to seek solutions. They developed methods to rejuvenate the body and mind and promote a virtuous life, which they propagated through teaching and practice. These ideas and practices from various cultures eventually converged into a universal system known as Yoga.

Yoga signifies living in harmony with Nature. Although known by different names depending on the region and language, it fundamentally consists of physical and mental exercises to maintain health and well-being. The yoga system practiced under the World Community Service Centre (WCSC), which aids in regulating physical and mental health while enlightening practitioners on the purpose of human life and guiding them towards perfection, is called Manavalakkalai or SKY Yoga.

Manavalakkalai or SKY Yoga includes:

  1. Physical Exercises
  2. Kaya Kalpa
  3. Meditation Practices
  4. Introspection Practices: Helping identify and correct mistakes
  5. Brahmagnana: Awareness of the Divine State
  6. Training for Harmonious Living: Practices to live in harmony with others
  7. Leading a Virtuous Life
  8. Purification of the Genetic Center: Attaining the purpose behind human birth
  9. Security and Support through Service

These teachings, comprising both theoretical and practical sessions, are available to individuals who wish to follow a spiritual path, regardless of gender, caste, language, or religion.

UNIFICATION OF SCIENCE AND RELIGION

Science and religion had long diverged in the Western world until Einstein remarked, “Religion without science is blind, and science without religion is lame.” This gap has been further bridged by the teachings of Vethathiri Maharishi. By integrating science with Vedic philosophy through his unified field approach, Maharishi has merged science and philosophy into a single system of knowledge—Brahma Gnana—which illustrates how the primordial cause evolved into the present physical universe. Maharishi refers to this primordial cause as pure space, Allah, Almighty Father, or Brahman, characterized by both consciousness and energy, with an inherent quivering and a surrounding force.
