Simplified Kundalini Yoga

Simplified Kundalini Meditation is a systematic practice that trains the mind to achieve tranquility, heightened awareness, clarity, and mental strength. Normally, the mind operates at beta frequencies (14-40 cycles/second) during wakefulness, which can increase due to emotional disturbances, causing pain and misery. While lower frequencies are reached during sleep, this occurs without awareness. Meditation allows the mind to reach alpha (8-13 cps), theta (4-7 cps), and delta (1-3 cps) levels while staying awake, producing profound effects. Through meditation, the mind gains control over the senses, enabling conscious actions with an understanding of cause and effect.

Simplified Kundalini Yoga meditation practice:

A systematic training of the mind to achieve tranquility, increased awareness, clarity, and mental strength.

During the waking state, the human mind operates at 14-40 cycles per second (cps), known as the beta level. Emotional disturbances such as greed, anger, miserliness, immoral sexual passion, jealousy, and vengeance can increase this mental frequency. Decisions made and actions taken at higher frequencies cause pain and misery to oneself and others. Lower frequencies are typically reached during sleep: the alpha level (8-13 cps) during dreams, the theta level (4-7 cps) during deep sleep, and the delta level (1-3 cps) during a coma. However, these lower frequencies do not provide benefits because the mind is not aware.

During meditation, the mind can reach alpha, theta, and delta levels while remaining fully awake, leading to tremendous mental effects.

Normally, our mind is directed by our senses, leading to emotional reactions and problems. Through sincere meditation practice, the mind gains control over the senses, allowing us to act with constant awareness of the cause and effect system.

Agna Meditation:

Typically, our life energy is centered at the ‘Mooladhar Chakra’, the physical hub located at the base of the spinal column. In this state, the mind operates on an emotional level, unable to break free from unwanted habits. However, a skilled meditation teacher can guide the student to shift the focus of their life energy to the ‘Agna Chakra’, the point between the eyebrows. By directing the mind’s attention to this new focal point, the teacher provides the student with a fresh, positive direction. This shift in focus brings about a reduction in mental frequency, transitioning the mind from the Beta to the calmer Alpha level. This change enables the student to gain better control over their senses and develop a stronger power of concentration.

Shanthi Yoga:

After a few days of initial practice, practitioners often experience heightened energy in the upper centers. At this stage, Shanthi Yoga is introduced to help balance and harmonize the flow of energy in the head.

Thuriya Meditation:

After one month, the practitioner learns Thuriya Yoga. During this practice, the Master transmits Divine Yogic Power through their gaze into the aspirant’s eyes, facilitating the ascent of Kundalini Shakthi from the Agna Chakra to Thuriya (also known as Sahasradara) at the crown of the head, inducing a profoundly pleasant sensation. Thuriya meditation, when practiced regularly alongside introspection, not only provides blissful experiences but also enhances spiritual awareness and deepens understanding.

Engaging in Thuriya meditation, focusing on the Crown Chakra, activates dormant brain cells, leading to heightened intellect, improved memory, and strengthened willpower. Higher-level courses offer various other meditation practices as well.

Thuriatheetha Yoga:

Through the thought-force of the Master, the aspirant enters the Thuriatheetha State, where the soul merges into the Absolute, the Almighty—an experience also known as Jeeva-Brahma Aikyam meditation. This psychic practice aims to achieve ‘Samadhi’ and leads to the realization of God.

Thuriatheetha meditation, the third stage in SKY, facilitates the merging of consciousness with the Universal Being. It marks the cessation of the birth cycle and complete liberation into the Eternal Source. Here, the mind transcends its dimensions of volume, force, time, and distance, moving towards the Absolute State—a state of serene awareness and the elevation of consciousness towards perfection. When the mind attains the Absolute through Thuriatheetha meditation, it enters Samadhi. This state of oneness with the Primordial Self signifies both self-realization and the realization of God.

Benefits include:
  • Decreased mental chatter
  • Heightened awareness
  • Enhanced intellectual acuity and comprehension
  • Strengthened willpower and concentration

FAQ

What is the importance of Shanthi Yoga?

Shanthi Yoga holds significant importance, often overlooked despite its meditative nature. It plays a crucial role in physical well-being. In this practice, one focuses solely on observing the life-force at Mooladhara. Performing ‘Aswani Mudhra’, the contraction and release of the anus, ten to twenty times, aids in achieving successful Shanthi Yoga Meditation. The session concludes with blessings from Mooladhara, without ascending to the Agna Chakra.

When to meditate?

Meditation, as the process of merging the soul with the Absolute, can be practiced daily at any time and in any direction, as there are no specific restrictions. Just as homemakers clean used vessels daily in the kitchen for the next day’s use, the mind too should be trained to merge with its source daily for soul purification.

Initially, even if the mind remains stable for just half a minute during a ten-minute meditation session, it represents significant progress. Consistent effort yields better results. The longer we meditate, the stronger our conscious mind becomes.
